Three ways to start
- Describe the family in plain words and let AI draft the tree (one free draw a day, or three a day with a free account).
- Open a template, such as three generations, a blended family or an adoptive family, and rename the people.
- Import a GEDCOM file from Ancestry, MyHeritage or other genealogy software (up to 80 people).
What the tree can show
- Marriages, partners living together, separations and divorces.
- Biological, adopted and foster children, twins and pregnancies.
- Birth and death years, with the person crossed out when deceased.
- Optional extras most family tree makers leave out: health conditions and the quality of relationships.
Family tree or genogram?
This generator draws both: leave out the health and emotional details and you have a clean family tree.
| Family tree | Genogram | |
|---|---|---|
| Shows | Who is related to whom | Relationships, health and patterns too |
| Typical use | Genealogy, school projects, gifts | Social work, counseling, nursing |
| Symbols | Boxes and lines | Standard McGoldrick–Gerson notation |
Files
- PNG with a small watermark is free. Watermark-free PNG, SVG and PDF come with the Semester Pass.
- A JSON backup is free on every plan, so you can keep working on the tree later.
- For research beyond 80 people, sources and places, keep using genealogy software; this tool is for drawing a clear, readable tree.
